About the yard
Urchinwood Manor Riding Centre is a riding and event centre in a 17th-century manor house, with over 100 acres of pasture, near Congresbury. It runs lessons and events, and offers livery on a full or working basis.
Full livery covers mucking out, bedding down and feeding, and the horse is turned out into the livery paddocks alone or with a companion. Grooming, tack cleaning, lunging, riding and clipping are charged on top, per day or per clip. Working livery is the cheaper route: the horse is used in the riding school, ridden by a suitable client under instructor supervision.
Some staff live on site, so someone competent is always around. The farrier visits each Tuesday. Grass livery runs in summer and autumn, and horses come in at night depending on the time of year. Horse boxes and trailers can be parked, and there are tack rooms and an industrial washer for numnahs and boots.
