About the yard
Golden Valley is a purpose-built equestrian centre in the woods of central Derbyshire, between Riddings and Codnor and close to Ripley. The yard takes assisted livery in two forms, a seven-day and a five-day package, and the yard says it is BHS highly commended.
The seven-day package gives you a stable with rubber matting, ad-lib hay and straw, morning mucking out and an evening skip out, turnout and bring-in, and rug changes. Feed, wormers, supplements, farrier, dentist and vet bills are not included.
The arenas are a 70 by 35 metre indoor school, a 60 by 40 metre outdoor school and a 60 by 20 dressage arena, all on wax fibre silica sand. There is an under-cover horse walker, a lunge pen and a solarium, and the yard says there are bridle paths and off-road routes for miles. The yard is staffed seven days a week with CCTV.
