About the yard
Downlands is on a 1000-acre farm in the Wylye Valley, outside Warminster. It takes DIY, assisted, part and full livery, and the yard is a BHS approved livery centre.
DIY owners keep their own stable and use the designated turnout, and the yard supplies hay and straw. The assisted, part and full packages take on more of the daily work, with a team that mucks out, turns out and brings in, and feeds on the fuller packages.
The yard has a 24 by 40 metre indoor arena, a floodlit 40 by 60 metre outdoor arena, a horse walker, a solarium and a hot wash, plus a 20-acre cross-country schooling field. Hacking goes straight out from the yard. Part and full prices are quoted without a period, so ring to check.
Turnout
The yard doesn't say. Ask about winter turnout before you visit: it's the thing most owners want to know.
