About the yard
Arniss Equestrian is a riding school and livery yard on Southampton Road at Godshill, a short drive from Fordingbridge. The yard has 20 stables and says it has almost 50 acres of turnout, split between large fields and smaller paddocks.
Livery is stabled or grass. The price list gives stabled livery from £450 a month and grass livery from £280 a month, and does not separate full from part stabled livery. Horses that suit riding school work can be considered for working livery, and there is a loan scheme for riders who have had weekly lessons at the yard for at least six months.
The facilities include a large sand and rubber arena, show jumps and cross country training fences. Someone is on site 24 hours a day, with CCTV and late night checks, a weekly farrier visit and a monthly routine vet visit. Hacking starts from the back gate onto New Forest heathland, and the yard says there are no roads to ride on.
