About the yard
Totleywells is a livery and training centre near Winchburgh, a short drive from South Queensferry and about ten miles from Edinburgh. It offers full and schooling livery, and short-term versions of both, but no part or DIY livery.
Full livery is kept in the Queensferry Courtyard Stables, or in the Dundas Barn, where the stables and walkways are matted and there are automatic drinkers and hay feeders. Horses get daily turnout in pastures in groups of up to three, hay or haylage, farrier and vet attendance, use of the outdoor and indoor arenas, and a monthly supported schooling session.
Schooling and competition livery adds three ridden sessions a week, and short-term schooling livery takes horses for a minimum of three weeks with a planned programme. University students can also take term-time livery for 42 weeks a year. Owners provide their own hard feed, and the yard orders it in and gives supplements.
