About the yard
Crofton Manor is a riding and competition centre on Titchfield Road in Stubbington, between Fareham and Lee-on-the-Solent. Its livery is do-it-yourself stabling: the yard provides a stable, a secured tack room and hay and straw storage, and the owner looks after the horse day to day.
Hay, shavings and straw are bought through the yard and delivered to your storage bay. Mares and geldings are kept in separate fields. Clients choose their own vet and farrier, a vet clinic runs monthly and a horse dentist visits on a regular basis, and clients can arrange their own instruction. The yard expects regular worming and up-to-date flu vaccinations.
The fully covered indoor arena is 60 by 23 metres with a gel track, and the livery outdoor arena is 60 by 30 metres, rubber and sand, and floodlit. There is also a newer outdoor arena of 67 by 67 metres. The centre hosts many dressage, show jumping and showing events, and the hacking is well regarded, with bridleways and a route to the beach. The yard does not publish prices, so ring the livery manager.
Turnout
Mares and geldings are kept in separate fields to avoid the usual problems with mixed-sex groups.
