About the yard
The equine department at this land-based college offers DIY livery to students who bring their own horse for the study period. It is not open to the public: the horses sit in a separate, quiet yard set away from the main college yard.
Each stable is a 12x12 in an American barn with an automatic water drinker. Ad-lib hay or haylage is included, along with turnout paddocks, use of the arenas, wash bays, a solarium, a horse walker and a private lockable tack room. The yard is on CCTV and there are miles of hacking on and off road.
Horses must be vaccinated, and no horse under five years old can be kept on site under the college's licence.
